Can Roomba be used on deep carpets and hard floors?

Yes! Roomba picks up an amazing amount of dirt, dust, pet hair and other debris from your carpets and hard floors. Roomba automatically transitions from one floor surface to the next, including carpets, rugs, tile, linoleum and hardwood floors.

How do children and pets react to Roomba?

Everyone's children and pets react differently; most tend to be curious at first, then get used to it soon after. In fact, many customers write letters (and send photos) about how entertained their pets are with their new robotic friend. Roomba is ideal for keeping up with pet hair, crumbs and everyday messes that accumulate on your rugs and hard floors.

  • iAdapt Navigation uses a full suite of sensors to navigate and adapt to your changing home
  • 3-Stage Cleaning System agitates, brushes and suctions floors
  • Conveniently schedule up to 7x per week, or just press CLEAN on the robot
  • Automatically docks and recharges. At just 3.6 inch tall, Roomba has been specifically designed to fit under most furniture and kickboards so dirt has no place to hide
  • Automatically adjusts to all floor types - carpet, tile, hardwood, laminate & more

We own 8 birds and so we have been looking at getting something that will help spot clean for us, as our actual vacuum cleaner is on it's last legs and is very heavy. (I have nerve damage in my arms.)

The Roomba 650 was recommended for us due to it's features, efficiency and price. We live upstairs, so we needed a bot that had cliff sensors, but wasn't too expensive and so far it's been a godsend! After only two days of using it we are seeing the benefits already. It was very easy to set up, all we had to do was remove the battery label and dock it to charge overnight, program in the schedule by only pressing the schedule button and altering the times (VERY easy) and away he went!

Waking up, uncovering our feathered kids and not having to deal with seed and other mess on the bottom of our feet is amazing and the carpets feel fresher and nicer underfoot, which is an added bonus.

The only thing is that he does get stuck from time to time and he misses the odd bit here and there, but he gets to it with a couple of nudges. He's not too loud, the birds aren't too bothered by him and he's very easy to clean. (Just try to remember to pick up things before he starts wandering around. Today he ate my earbuds and he got angry with me for picking him up to retrieve them.)
